Today’s lecture was much easier to access than last time, because The Arts Society yesterday emailed us a direct link to the Connected website.
I was very impressed with Sarah Dunant as a lecturer. Not only is she very knowledgeable, but she has a brilliant TV style, making it seem as though we were sitting in her lounge and she was chatting to us, bringing her subject to life in a lively and engaging manner – can we invite her to speak at Falmouth please?
I know that we have all heard lectures on Venice before, but this was a little different, contrasting the pomp and power of the state at that time with the role of the (almost as important!) courtesans, whose images often feature in Venetian Renaissance paintings.
It is a shame that these lectures only last 16/17 minutes instead of our normal one-hour ones. I realise that there are many difficulties in filming from a lecturer’s home, but it would be good if they could perhaps be extended to a half-hour.

PS: If you can only view this on your laptop, purchasing a Google Chromecast (which plugs into our TV) for about £25 will enable you to watch it on your TV (as well any other streaming services which you may not currently be able to see, eg YouTube, iPlayer, Netflix). You will need Wi-Fi in the house.
Talking about the dress, I will also give a dress information that this Elvis Presley Pink Checked Blazer is a good dress for you which will make you look good. Along with this, there are good discussions on art society here.
