Last year I wrote a little article about our Penfold boxes: we are the only town to have 8 of these still in daily use (although at that time we only had 7 as one had been demolished by a bin lorry!). However last Friday a replacement was put in place in College Lawn, complete with finial which had been lost from the original one. I walked up to view this - just to check it was true, which it was.
I have now revised my leaflet which suggests a route round Cheltenham to admire them. Obviously you can start where you like and do as many or as few as you like. Please see the attachment below.
I think this is something we should be proud of - along with the fact that in January 2022 it is rumoured we will be able to take the waters in Pittville Pump Room again....but that is another story!

It's really interesting! Looks like your bitlife town has a unique feature with Penfold boxes and it's nice to know that they are still in daily use. The addition of a replacement box ending in the College Lawn adds to the charm and historic continuity of these boxes.
