Brindisi
For thousands of years Brindisi, with its easily defendable natural harbour and strategic location on the Adriatic sea, has played an important role in trade, culture and military activity, especially during the Middle Ages. Dr Tobias Capwell takes a closer look at the medieval knights who defended and passed through such port cities, considering their portrayal in art throughout history.
